L Rice Maidens doing well lately showing great returns this year @AQU-- has 5 today!!

L Rice's Maidens have been giving decent returns across the board at Aqueduct since the beginning of the year. Her last 2 Maidens have won and hit the board paying out a total of $60+ across the board!!!

However, I can't understand for the life of me why she would enter 5 Maidens today!!!

She is doing so well then she goes and enters 5 today only 1 of which is in a 6 Furlong race where she has been doing really well!!

Really wish I knew what her strategy is for entering Maidens I hope some of these get scratched today!!!

She's known for scratching a lot of horses, so unlikely they'll all run. With that said, she's entering because she thinks those are good spots for the horses. She's not worried about breaking whatever streaks you can cobble together by selectively and blindly reviewing a database.

Hey cast,

I have often wondered if she or other trainers had a way to cobble data together the way I do if they would train and enter horses differently

For example, if she knew that her Maidens were doing better in sprints as opposed to route races would she enter more of her Maidens in sprint races based on the data or would she go by what she thinks would be a good spot for her horses

Also, I think it would be more interesting and a bigger game changer for the sport if Trainer titles were given to those that had the best return on investment for the bettor as opposed to someone like D Jacobson who enters more horses than any other Trainer and has more wins and is given a title due to that fact.

L Rice's Maidens had a rough day at Aqueduct yesterday as only 1 of her Maidens hit the board!!

She still has a pretty decent return but she hurt her percentages yesterday in this category as her Maidens hit the board only 1 time in 4 attempts!!

Her Maidens are doing much better in races going less than 1 Mile so far this year!!

As it has been pointed out that she tends to scratch some before post time of the 1st race!!

Since this post L Rice's Maidens going less than 1 Mile have missed the board 3 straight times!!

I will keep an eye on her Maidens in sprint races hopefully she can right the ship before the end of the Inner Dirt season is over at Aqueduct!!!
