I feel like I've seen them before up there before but I'm not 100% sure. I'll go with Red Letter Day, the jumper.

Yes, they have run 2-mile races up here before. Not often, but they do.

And a field of 9 signed up. This will be a good one to see.

I'm all for longer races, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. They usually wind up way spread out at the finish in these types.

I'm sure they will be but the fact they got 9 horses for a 2 mile race in this day and age is a small ray of sunshine. I will enjoy it for what it is.

I'm with you, pretty cool they drew that many. I actually think the longer races are easier on horses, but obviously many others don't agree.

looks like Jacobson has an entry? -EA
The Pletcher horse (bridgeloan?) will be a key horse to know. He should take some money.

good catch
EA and Sumo(two of the top contenders) both raced 8/6
would have to guess they would scratch.
Contessa's Veiled Prophet is a scratch also...
Jacobson's SpringCourt would only have 12 days off, but this could be a good spot
looking good for Bridgeloan

If memory serves me, EA has won on 5d rest earlier this year. I would expect him to run.

I guess it's a three turn race with the gate at the 7f position?
Should be pretty cool. Hopefully the field will not see many defections.

FL used to have a starter handicap series of long races.....going longer every two weeks, sometimes one week.
IT was carded to allow our bottom $1500 (yes, hundred!) claimers to get in and keep on winning. Mile and a quarter up to two miles ( then eventually to 4+ miles) but the horses who did well in that series raced every week or two and come out moving up in class - some of our best allowance horses came from the bottom by way of the marathons. And the fields were full every time.
