Silly column.

He dismisses Frankel and Bailey since they have very high quality stables/mounts.

This reasoning while superficially persuasive is, in fact, very flawed.

It is a credit to Frankel and Bailey that they have the high quality horses. For trainers and jockeys, winning consistently requires getting talented horses and then knowing how to get them to perform to their abilities. Both require skill. Beyer discounts the first part as if it is all luck or as if that skill that should not matter. Yet, the first part probably is the most important part.
