Jockey's Don't Matter?

I just finished my trip notes for the day, and anybody who thinks jockeys don't matter much should take a look at Thursday's 7th race at Golden Gate.

In a mundane 5-horse race, winning jockey Kevin Krigger keeps one of his two main competitors wide on both turns; then manages to keep the other main competitor bottled up in the stretch against the rail, behind another horse, until the win is safely secured.

All without even the barest hint of a foul.
