Swetye retires from Board of HANA
Hi All,
Just wanted to be the first to let you know that I retired from the board of HANA because there are not enough hours in the day for me to do all things I want to do outside of HANA.
I was one of the founders of HANA and that, in and of itself, was an accomplishment I am proud of.
As you can see from my posts I am passionate about the racing industry, but expressing passion at a high level requires a lot of energy. I'd rather put that energy to use in other areas -- especially with my family and my businesses.
If you're a HANA member you couldn't ask for a better President than Jeff Platt. He's knowledgeable, articulate, creative, caring, hard working, etc. HANA is in good hands and has a solid foundation from which to grow. I hope you will support HANA, but that doesn't mean they get a free pass.
Thanks again to all the members of HANA for all your support -- and creative tension.
Well, onward and upward.
John

For those who don't know:
John is a founder.
John spent hundreds of hours on the phone, and via email.
John drove across the country to go to a meeting
John has supplied the group with numerous contacts and set up a great many meetings - moving things forward in a quicker way than would have happened without him
John, despite having a wickedly busy schedule, took time to pen some well read and well linked blog posts - some of the best we have on the blog. One of which is here, and it is still one of my faves: http://blog.horseplayersassociation....igm-shift.html
John has always supported the player and asked for zippo in return.
Homage to Johnny!
Thanks pal.

John,
I remember our first War Room meeting very well. It was obvious, at least to me, that you were a passionate believer that our idea would work. Your selection as president of HANA was a no-brainer and you will be missed.
I agree that Jeff will make a great president, also, and HANA and it's impact on the industry will continue to grow.
So, take a rest, you've earned it many times over.

That meeting that John drove cross country to was at Yavapai Downs and I met him at 9:30 in the am with a first post time of 1:10PM! But all kidding aside, we had some great discussions and it was obvious that John was passionate in his beliefs to improve our sport. Hopefully we can someday implement some of his suggestions to make horse racing as player friendly as possible!

Thanks for helping launch the organization John. You were a driving force in the most critical period during lift-off and your efforts are genuinely appreciated.

Thanks for all you've done in the initial setup of HANA. Your blog post on the paradigm shift in racing was a fantastic read. Especially since betting exchanges are near and dear to my heart. I think it's something extremely simple that would help bring in new customers and help handle grow exponentially.
Thanks again and I wish you nothing but continued success moving forward.
