Propaganda fot Bushs' War
http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwa...zer/index.html
The Pulitzer-winning investigation that dare not be uttered on TV
The New York Times' David Barstow won a richly deserved Pulitzer Prize yesterday for two articles that, despite being featured as major news stories on the front page of The Paper of Record, were completely suppressed by virtually every network and cable news show, which to this day have never informed their viewers about what Bartow uncovered. Here is how the Pulitzer Committee described Barstow's exposés:
Awarded to David Barstow of The New York Times for his tenacious reporting that revealed how some retired generals, working as radio and television analysts, had been co-opted by the Pentagon to make its case for the war in Iraq, and how many of them also had undisclosed ties to companies that benefited from policies they defended.
.................................................. .............................
Ties to terrorists?
WMDs?

Notwithstanding I believe people should be free to make money where they can, I have a big problem with retired military using their position for pay.
I don't care if it's Wesley Clark on the left or some other general on the right, I just find it wrong. All the talk about how releasing this or that piece of information about our policy/strategy decisions pales in comparison to the damage these retired generals do.
I'm sure there are tons of retired generals who do not profit from their former position despite having had differences of opinion with the president or Sec of Defense. And that is how it should be.

All governments do propaganda. Particularly about war.
However this war was sold on a new grandiose scale. Massive media manipulation.
Goes to "War is too important to be left to the Generals"

Hcap,
Indeed hell has frozen over, I agree with you. I think there can be serious conflicts of interests when defense corps hire former Generals.

Hell indeed has frozen over. Now that I softened you up, how about a few verses of "Kumbaya"

Again, that was a standard set by the wack-o left here, 46.
What foes around comes around.
I am only respecting the code of conduct and standards set over the previous 8 years.

stinks, yeah we really need those liberal newspapers, uh huh...
If The war was just Bush propaganda then Obama could easily just call a halt to it and bring all the troops home now. But he's not. Why, since you say it's just propaganda?
stinks, the NY loberal Times is about to go broke. They borrowed a massive amt of money from a Mexican billionaire, not too long ago.
I guess people are on to their "PROPAGANDA"

Yeah, who needs a free press. Well, there is always Pravda, which some of their articles would make some great skits on SNL.
