Barbaro - cause for some much needed optimism
I'll take any good news at this point....

Encouraging sign: Barbaro's hoof regrowing
The condition of injured Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Barbaro's left hind hoof, stricken with severe laminitis, is steadily improving and has begun to regrow, said Dean Richardson, D.V.M., chief of surgery at the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center. Thoroughbred Times

WOW! You have to feel for this poor horse!..It brings tears to my eyes because as a horseman I know what it is like when a horse looks you in the eye and says help me..He is truly a warrior and a champ to endure what he has.Lets keep hoping and praying for Barbaro.

Sometimes the innocence of animals provokes great emotion because you can almost feel what they are feeling by looking into their eyes.

Yes, I wish these sports pundits would get off his case and stop using him as a foil for jokes or to put out their pet theories on the sport.
Case in pt. Andy POllin of TEAM radio 980 AM in Wash. DC. Today he says "enuf about the horse already...and the thing is he's no good for stud anyhow..."
The kicker is that about a month ago when it looked real bad for Barbaro he was denigrating the people who were trying to save him. On the basis that they were just doing this for money. I didnt have the time to explain to him that Barb.'s chances for stud were low anyhow so that anything they did was really for his benefit...
So now he's figured out that the stud duty is really not a major consideration at this pt. But now that's his reason for denigrating the efforts to save Barb.
It's sort of typical the way media often operates. Especially when they dont really understand much about the sport.
