Tragedy in KY

Tornados struck Kentucky about 1:30am today casuing serious damage at Ellis Park. Lots of physical destruction as well as many horses loose thorugh damage to barn. They area rounding them up this morning......several infomative posts at derby-list today.

I heard they had to put 5 horses down because of injuries.

MSNBC had areal shots of the track today - it is devastated. Parts completely leveled, the track covered wtih debris. A nearby trailer park was wiped out, many deaths. Nightime tornados have to be terrifying.

According to the DRF, the future is in jeopardy there. CDI is really having a rough year; in 10 weeks they've seen the Fair Grounds decimated by a hurricane, Calder suffer some damage, and now Ellis.
