SA SAT

Picks for Santa Anita Saturday:

R1 #3 Flower Hill-Trainer/jock do very well together with FTS. Expect this one to come out running.

R2 #1 Smoke N Bloke-Gets a big jock upgrade, barn does very well with stretchout runners.

R3 #2 Have Confidence-Pressed a rapid pace and had only the perfect trip horse pass him in the stretch last out. Should be able to control the pace from the inside here.

R4 #1a Daytime Event-Showed ability in her debut last year. Has some nice drills for her comeback.

R5 #6 Great Action-Barn has pulled this dirt/turf move with success in the past. Breeding isn’t too hot for turf, but that will help the price.

R6 #7 Bilo-Last race was impressive figwise. Lightly raced runner will be tough here if he runs anywhere near that performance.

More to come……

the rest of the card

R7 #4 Designed for Luck-No doubt he belongs with this group if he’s ready. This old timer has come off extended layoffs in the past and run well. Has some sharp and steady drills for this.

R8 #8 Dynawhite-Will prove to be a timely claim with a victory today. Versatile runner can lead here or lay off the pace. Like the fact that Nakatani rides here.

R9 #8 Ultimato-Cagey connections here so you’ll probably see improvement from this runner. Jock is running hot right now.

R10 #3 Big Bat-The completion of the Gomez double. Wasn’t able to last in a longer race last out when unable to slow it down early. Returns to a sprint today and should be tough.

And yeah CJ, I agree the Ancient Title came up kinda weak this year. Only one graded stakes winner in the bunch.
