Never been there. I've heard from friends who have that most of the hotels have bars, but that might be about it. My gut tells me it might be really hard to find an OTB.

In my Officer's Basic Course we had a lieutenant from Salt Lake City. He was a great guy, and while he didn't drink, he would still hang out with us. We never minded that he didn't drink, because it meant we always had a designated driver.

No OTB's, Casinos, or Lottery. Utah and Hawaii are the only 2 states without any form of legalized gambling.

I was there on business once. Nice, clean picturesque city. If you're looking for a hopping club scene, well look somewere else....

Only there for three days so it can't be too bad...but I don't guess I'll be doing too much in my off time.

I used to work with a guy named Steve Sleeper from Fallon Nevada, he used to tell a story about how he got kicked out of a bar once in Utah for cursing....he thought that was the funniest thing ever.

Chicken,

If you go to the LDS Temple grounds don't sign anything or you'll be hounded until your planted.

If you do get downtown check out the statue of Brigham Young, you will not he has his back to the church and his hand to the Bank Of Utah.
