Better to be lucky...

The last race that TP ran today, I had Scalia, who went from last to first up the stretch and paid $45.80. I sure was glad the weather didn't come in sooner! I was also sorta wishing the weather had brought me something at AQU because it ate me up today.

The most amazing thing about that race was watching the replays- both the normal pan shot and the head on. Going around the turn the horse seemed to trail by 20 or so lengths while being at least a dozen paths wide. It was as if the horse wasn't even part of the same race. The amount of ground the horse closed through the stretch was incredible. I wonder, was the far outside somewhat of a wet fast track while the inner part that the rest of the field was running on deep and muddy?
