NYRA Network
At the bottom of my screen it says "Starting January 1, 2017, you will no longer be able to watch the NYRA Network on this channel in NYC. You can watch all the action on NYRA.com, NYRA app on mobile devices, etc..."
No more NYRA Network in Manhattan?

I have the same message, I am ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED.
I have 2 older parents, both massive horselovers, who watch all day/night with no bets.
This seriously, just impacted their lives.
Disgusting.
I don't know who to blame, my new stupid ass cable subscriber or NYRA.
Most horseplayers are old. They need the TV. What IDIOT thought of this/allowed this?
If anyone knows, I want an answer.

FIOS
Was just going to ask you the same question.
I have Verizon FIOS.
I'm really not into watching 9 different tracks, a la TVG.

Me either, I leave on NYRA for NYRA all day.
Sounds like it could be a non cable company issue.

Just called my mother to tell her that after Jan 1st, she can no longer root my horses home for $10,000-$20,000 or $100 bucks.
She said why? Oh my god, how else will I pass my time, being immobilized and all?
My heart sank. I had no answer. Told her I will find out.
Dad got on phone. How else will I pass my time, not being able to pick 1 loser after the other (he's not the best of cappers)?
I said I don't know.
If I find out this is a NYRA decision. HELL WILL BE PAYED.
If my cable provider did this, FORGET THEM TONIGHT
I WANT A BLANKEN ANSWER. Does anyone know??????

I just realized something....
As I bet, from my home office, I stare at my NYRA network TV as I punch in bets.
If I no longer have the NYRA network, I am terribly inconvenienced in my betting.
I NEED TO KNOW who is behind this.
I am calling the program manager now and finding out.

Well Polish Navy....
It's all 10000000000000000000000000000000% NYRA's decision.
NOT the cable company.
They want to hurt me.....so I will speak with my handle, elsewhere. (Meaning finally saying YES, to those ADW's who have been recruiting me).
NYRA BETS, can go make up for my handle elsewhere.
Frieken Geniuses......

I can't answer the why, but I can tell you an HDMI cable hooked up from a laptop or PC to the TV works well. Not ideal but you'll get the races and the picture is very good.
HD channels are limited at this time and it isn't always easy to get and keep a slot. Dish still doesn't have TVG and TVG2 on HD, and several others channels as well.

It won't work well when you have a 73 year old handicapped woman, who can't even answer a house phone, trying to accomplish all that.
My cable subscriber has hundreds if not thousands of empty channels.
Channels don't seem to be a problem on Time Warner Cable or whatever the heck it just changed to.

Obviously I don't know all the circumstances. I was thinking you could help get it going each day.
Channels are one thing, HD channels another, but maybe it is different with fiber which I think FIOS is.

That is a bit extreme for those that just want NYRA racing. Personally, I'm not paying that much just for racing in HD. I can usually get it anyway if I'm worried about it on the Fox Sports channels or by doing just what I mentioned to EMD, hook up and old computer and use my ADWs or a track feed to watch.

This decision is so STUPID.
1) When I leave them for another ADW, they will lose $250,000 in net profit from me.
2) How many other EMD4ME's are there? I would venture quite a few in NYC.
3) How many people surf the TV and come across the channel and say: what is this? Get intrigued and maybe open an account?
4) They just gained market share in 30 states. Is part of their braindead dumbass stupid strategy, to lose the most important market share?????
5) They might've stupidly tracked how much is bet via their phone operation and said: Chee only X is bet via the phone and that must mean X people actually use the TV channel. STUPID!!!!!!!!
1 of you're top clients, primarily utilizes your NYRA network channel. AND I NEVER BET OVER THE PHONE.
This has REEEEEEAAAAALLLLLL STUPID written all over it.
10 Million plus in NYC, right next to your home tracks and you decide to CUT the free advertising.
I though Lloyd was dumb but this beyond DUMBER, IT'S DUMBEST EVER.

I have RTN....I use it for replays only.
I don't like going back and forth on my laptop between screens (to watch a race live). I want a different feed for my HDTV, WHILE I use formulator, Timeform on my laptop to study (and then wager via my ADW on my laptop).
PLUS, you just hit my family's life. My mother and dad can never watch a race again at home, without ME somehow making it happen, all the time.
All for what? To be penny wise and a million foolish?
