GPW turf are you kidding me!
It is an absolute shame the GPW turf course ended up looking like it did for this meet. Yesterday the course was 90% sand, this is an absolute shame that their is a zero maintenance of this course. Is there no sprinklers or water trucks for this type of surface? Yes there has been limited rain in the area but no excuse to let a course get this bad.

I think Sunday was there last day though, so doesn't matter much now. I commented about the "rooster tails" flying up on Twitter, was ugly.

Yes Sunday was the last day as they move to GP now. But this can't happen again, no excuse for this poorly maintained surface. I know the Calder people could give a rats ass but between the dust clouds from the sand getting kicked up you need a full helmet for both the jock and the horse just to keep the debris out of your lungs.

Well at least there was nobody there to see them run over it.
Seriously, the Calder meeting was a parody of horse racing in the simulcast era.

I was playing as recently as a few weeks ago. It wasn't the best maintained course but I've seen worse. FG in the late winter is about as bad as it gets.

I forgot, as it doesn't matter to me.
Why was the grandstand torn down? CRC done for good? Or for renovations?

They want to run at the main GP for 10+ months of the year and maintain Calder like a food plot for deer hunting. That way they can have 2 ruined turf courses instead of one!

You should see the video! Looks like a dude on the iPhone holding his arms up as high as he can and filming the races.

I sadly have as my friend likes to bet Calder, cough cough, GPW. Terrible angle.
Of no interest to me. That is pathetic.

Think so. I like the meet but wish the turf course was taken care of better. There are opportunities at the place.

I have never EVER seen a track with SO many horses coming home on the wrong lead.
I have no idea how to cap CRC and never seriously tried. I found out early on in life that I sucked at CRC and stopped betting it. (except for past posting some wagers there 20 years ago )

They have to have live racing for 40 some odd days to keep their casino license.
