THOROUGHBREDANALYTICS.COM

I have not been on the PaceAdvantage site consistently. Can anyone provide an opinion on the merits of thoroughbredanalytics.com in as much detail as they have. Thanks.

Is this some form of an implicit advertising for a proprietary product?

Anyway... Taking a quick glance in the site I am not impressed.

Pages like the following:

http://www.thoroughbredanalytics.com...ary-report.pdf

http://www.thoroughbredanalytics.com...sis-report.pdf

consist of very primitive analysis that is very easy to get by simply executing a sql statement in a historical database.

Skimming through their ridiculously expensive Premium Analysis & Past Performance Package

http://www.thoroughbredanalytics.com...m-analysis.pdf

I can see a lot of cryptic numbers that do not mean much to be, unless I either have a historical data base of them so I can discover their potential use or I am presented with the theory behind them...

The fact that all of their reports are provided in a pdf format:

http://www.thoroughbredanalytics.com/faq

makes it very difficult to build a database based on them, something that at least for me is unacceptable..

I am very aware of alternatives and this is not advertising! I stumbled across it and was unaware of it before. Thanks.

It's unlikely that anybody here can offer you an opinion about this site. But for $7.50...you can find out for yourself.

Simple opinion....... This seems like throwing out a lot of abstract numbers. And yes, trying to figure out which ones are important depending on race type is not going to be cheap in both terms of $$ & time.

When one tries to quantify everything, they quantify nothing.

But for those who want to check out the results, here's the Equibase historical chart for the date they use in examples.

PDF files are next to useless for any kind of back testing.

If you're a member of the ADW Premier Turf Club, you get this for some tracks for free.

That's not a bad sign. If I remember, at one time we could get some of CJ's sheets for free on PTC, and few question how strong his work is.

THANKS

I have looked at their samples and it begs the question about back testing being virtually impossible. Maybe they (I doubt it) have a analytical review of their results from a random sample. I may ask them. Thanks again.

their premium analysis is a pretty good guide, will give you about the same results as most software.
