RDSS Sartin/Bradshaw Contest - Official Rules Acknowledgement and Acceptance Poll
***
OBJECTIVE
1. To accumulate the highest Bankroll over the selectable contest races while meeting all contest eligibility requirements.
***
RULES
1. In order to participate and have their selections scored, a player must complete a one-time acknowledge (by voting "Yes" in the poll at the top of this thread) that they have read all the contest rules and agree to abide by them.
The poll is set up to allow you to only vote one time, so if you have any questions, never vote "no", but first seek an improved understanding by sending one of the contest moderators a private message or by posting your question in this thread. Once you are comfortable with the rules, you can go back and vote "yes" under the poll.
IMPORTANT CONTEST ACKNOWLEDGEMENT NOTE: To the right of the poll on the same line as the "Yes" option you will see an underlined number in blue, which captures a summary of that specific poll choice. Clicking on that number will show you the alphabetical listing of those who have voted yes. If at the time a day's selections are scored your name is not listed in the "yes" summary, your selections for that day will not be scored at that time or retroactively. The "yes" summary will be the ONLY means to confirm compliance to this rule. No other means (including posting below in this thread) will be acceptable.
2. This is an individual player event, so each person is limited to a single entry.
3. The Contest runs from Saturday, March 8th to Saturday, April 19th. New for 2014 --> Players must make selections on a minimum of 25 races and a maximum of 30 races, and must also wager at least $1000 over the duration of the contest. Selections may be made on any thoroughbred race run in North America with posted entries and results in Equibase (www.equibase.com). Within the requirement to play between 25-30 races, a minimum of 8 of those races must come from the 12 available Graded stakes (Kentucky Derby prep) races listed at the bottom of the rules.
4. Play is allowed any day of the week.
5. Players may play a maximum of four individual races on any given day.
6. Players will receive a complete refund and their races played count will not increase if a race is cancelled, declared a "no-contest", or if scratches leave their selection ticket with no live plays. Should any live tickets remain, the player will be scored on those wagers, and the race will count against the player's total races played.
7. All selections or their revisions must be posted at least one minute prior to the "official off time" as stated by Equibase. Selections are also not allowed to contain alternate choices.
Should a player's selection time stamp and the equibase "official off time" be the same or later, scoring will be as follows:
-- Any tickets that result in payouts will be considered "no plays". No winnings will be added to the player's bankroll, and refunds will be given for the wager amounts.
-- All losing tickets will be scored as if they were made on time, with no refunds.
8. Coupled Entries will be handled like they are at the track, and as such, a player accepts action on all horses in that coupling. Should a portion of an entry scratch, the player will still have action on the remaining portion still in the race. A player can not selectively choose one part of an entry to the exclusion of the other(s). Players do have the option to change their original selections per rule 7.
9. Bankroll and Wagering Format
-- Players may make Win, Place or Exacta bets, or any combination thereof, using a maximum of 3 distinct betting interests per race.
-- All players start the contest with a $2,000 Bankroll
-- A player can wager a maximum of 10% of their Starting bankroll on any contest day, which can be spread over as many as four different races. Subject daily wagering amounts are to be calculated by rounding down to the nearest $1. Important Note: The "Starting Bankroll" is defined as the player's Bankroll in place PRIOR to their first wager for a given contest day.
-- The minimum base wager amounts are $2 for Win, $2 for Place, and $1 for exactas. All individual wagers must total least $2. Wager amounts can be increased by increments of $1.
10. Given that this contest will be open about 12 hours each day, reasonable efforts will be made to post timely results. That said, a player is ultimately responsible for knowing their bankroll and maximum daily wager amount. Should a player overbet, his/her wagers will be reduced automatically in the usual manner, which is to reduce their last wager base amount by $1, and continue working backwards until all of the day's wagering is in compliance.
11. For registered RDSS users who want to qualify for the $580 in RDSS Bonus Prizes, they must be paid-up RDSS subscribers as of April 1, 2014.
12. The moderators or their designate will have the final say on any scoring matters. This contest is intended to be played in good faith and in the "spirit of the game"!
13. Contest Stakes Events (8 of 12 races are mandatory plays): March 08 -- Tampa Bay Downs, "Tampa Bay Derby", 8.5f
March 08 -- Santa Anita, "San Felipe", 8.5f
March 15 -- Oaklawn Park, "Rebel", 8.5f
March 22 -- Turfway Park, "Spiral", 9f
March 23 -- Sunland Park, "Sunland Derby", 9f
March 29 -- Gulfsteam Park, "Florida Derby", 9f
March 29 -- Fairgrounds, "Louisiana Derby", 9f
April 05 -- Aqueduct, "Wood Memorial", 9f
April 05 -- Santa Anita, "Santa Anita Derby", 9f
April 12 -- Oaklawn Park, "Arkansas Derby", 9f
April 12 -- Keeneland, "Blue Grass", 9f
April 19-- Keeneland, "Lexington", 8.5f
New for 2014 --> Unlike past years where the contest ended with the running of this race, players will be allowed to continue making selections on races up to 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
HELPFUL SUGGESTION: Players not familiar with this contest can check out the last year's version --> here.
Good skill to ALL.

9. Bankroll and Wagering Format
-- Players may make Win, Place or Exacta bets, or any combination thereof, using a maximum of 3 distinct betting interests per race.
************************************************** *******
An example of acceptable and unacceptable selections for the above contest rule:
Acceptable:
Race 01
--> $4 Exacta Box 1,2,10 ($24)
--> $10 Win and Place 10 ($20)
--> $10 Place 2 ($10)
--> $5 Exacta Key 10 with 1,2 ($10)
Total wagered = $64
Unacceptable:
Race 01
--> $4 Exacta Box 1,2,10 ($24)
--> $10 Win and Place 10 ($20)
--> $10 Place 2 ($10)
--> $5 Exacta Key 10 with 2,5 ($10)
Total Wager = $64
The reason this is not acceptable is that the player used four different wagering entities (1,2,5,10) in the RACE. Some players mistakenly think the rule applies only to the individual ticket rather than for the whole race.

Hi Chris
On the exacta box.
If it's a $4bx should the total be $24 making the grand total $64.
Not trying to split hairs, mention it to avoid Confusion.
Thanks! Ed

It's $24 if you do the math right! I'll edit the post to prevent any further confusion.
Now stay over there at D-W and don't come pick on me! I've really learned to like it myself.
Chris

Sure, as long as you only make selections in up to 4 races per day. HOWEVER, it is preferable to make them in as few posts as possible - eases the burden on the Contest Scorer (Track Collector).
Good luck Matt!
Ted

Hello dirty moose,
Yes, as long as you abide by the daily limits, which are as follows:
(a) Selections can be made on a maximum of 4 different races.
(b) The sum total of all your wagers can not go over your 10% of your Starting bankroll, which happens to be $2000 * 10% = $200 for the first day you participate in the contest.

Just saw this, I can move over now, or leave it. Or you guys can ignore it all together. Your decision.
Sorry about that, was half asleep as I left this am.

My view is that it can be counted for today, no worries. I shall leave the final decision to Track Collector though.
cheers,
Ted
