I don't have a pick yet, but here are a few "trip notes" for all of you to use.
#4 Star of Sarava (May 9th) set pace vs bias and pace, tried hard, even effort, possibly BTL. (May 25th) even, outrun.
#5 Fourseventeen: (sept 28) xx wide in no shot position, throwout line, ran a bit. (Oct 13) sharp, bulled thru late, had solid run, good strides for class.
#6 Master Wes: (aug 17) trip w no excuse, hung while being in great position. (Sept 8) nice trip, seemed to be moving a bit funny, hung badly.
#1 Minnie Punt (sept 29) well placed, closer to pace than usual, ok try, maybe a good tightener for a one run cover trip next time? (oct 11) Nice move far turn off rail, dropped back a bit than held his ground while back in less than 2 weeks, sharp try, good prep for class drop.
#7 Tiger Willie. (Oct 5) bobbled a bit far turn, outrun badly, needs drop.
#8 Mythical Hero. Shipper
#1a Dual Citizen. (sept 25) pressing pace, tired, no real excuse.
#9 Pasta Lover. (sept 13) outrun vs 4 rivals, no visible excuse.
#10 Coach AJ. (Oct 12) was kept under a strong hold throughout, seemed to have some run in the lane.

I think Dale Romans is planning to win this race by his putting a high %
Turf Jock in the irons. I believe the horse can shorten up to 7 F quiet
nicely and the drop in class will help him. So my pick is the Master
Wesly.

I'll use 1,3,5,6,8 on my mulit race tickets and check the double prices.
6 looks tough on class drop picking up Rosario
I wouldnt rule out 3 as he could surprise
5 has some past races that could put him at the wire (easy to take a stand agianst the trainer though 0 for 29)
I think Cohen is going to be aggressive on 1 and put him up front (although this is my least favorite of my selections)
8 the shipper with J Ortiz can sit a nice trip and be ready for his first W for 2013

Belmont Race -9 Wide open affair that I think will produce some great payouts here. I've landed on the at 10-1 on the ML. 3rd time off the layoff for Levine a 15% move and another 21% on the cutback to a sprint today. Takes a slight jump up in class for the return to the weeds, another 17% trainer angle to boot. Stalker has back races on the turf that would win this. Price should be right. My bets here:
$10 WP
$5 Exacta Box

I usually enjoy the seven furlong turf races because I can almost always find something at a price that I like enough to warrant a wager. It seems like I subconsciously hunt for a runner that meets one of a couple profiles that I tend to like in these races. In this race, I really wasn't drawn to anyone in particular, but it surely does appear as though Master Wesley is likely just a little better than most, if not all of these in here.
With that said, if I were playing the race, I'd probably lean towards Star of Sarava to beat the likely favorite.
It seems like of the many "routers" in here, this guy probably stands the best chance of being ridden into a good early spot behind the one horse in the field that appears to have legit sprint type speed... but just can't run enough to parlay that speed into a distinct advantage with this bunch.
He has good turf form in the past and shows a handful of races where you could argue that he secured good position up to and until inside the quarter pole going farther. So, given his decent ability to get a good early spot and his ability to hang in there for most of the way going farther in races that figure to run somewhat similarly to this shorter event - he just seems like the one that may collar the speed early, get first run when the running starts, and have enough finish while also getting brave if and when he does make the lead in the lane to fend off the remainder.
I have a feeling that the 10-1 M/L may be a little bit of wishful thinking, but still should be a much fairer price than a couple of the others that I could build for myself a slightly less convincing case.

The is sort of a celebrity, winning a stakes in '09 at Royal Ascot, the 1st American- trained horse to win a race there.

By the way, the numbers in the poll aren't correct. Make sure, if you just post the saddle cloth numbers, that you use the ones from the program, not the ones in the poll.

Thanks Raybo, I listed the horses in the order of the PP. I hope there is no confusion with your betting.
