The Voice has excellent singing talent, well screened before they even try out.
The judges know their stuff and are quite likeable as a whole, although I miss Shakira this year.

The X factor has slipped so far in the ratings it appears to be doomed.
Painful to watch some of the wannabees who have no idea how little talent they have. The judges aren't much either.

Totally agree. The Voice "vets out" the singers, even the ones who don't make it, are decent and close to making it. XF wastes some time showing you people who obviously can't sing a lick, and, since its a singing show, who wants to see clownshow stuff? That is why the ratings are dipping.

The other "dip" is because the judges arent really likeable, believable and they don't even say a heck of a lot that helps out the singer. The Paulina girl on XF is out of place, she never has anything original to say, she's just an echo box for the others.

On XF i really like that girl who's the woman's football player from LA, she's pretty talented. The guy group from South Central "AKNU" got eliminated and i'm not sure why, that's another reason XF and for the larger part AI are slipping in ratings, a lot of disingenuous stuff from them.

The girl from Kingston, Jamaica (tessanne chin) on the Voice is spectacular, she's the frontrunner from what i've seen so far.

The Voice

Sorry. I'm not into the process. The contest should be off camera. The winner should record a CD. If I like it I'll buy it.

I have no idea what the Xfactor is, nor do I care. If they want to get my attention they should be more descriptive with the title.

I agree, the Voice does a good job of screening, the singers are very good.

I find it near impossible to believe that one can watch these shows AND be a winning horseplayer.
No way

Tell me - who are the judges on these shows?

The shows share 2 things, They are cheap to put on the air and they are God awful. They belong on some cable channel in the 500s. They are living proof that America is going to the dogs. The people who program the networks have a golden opportunity to put on something worthwhile and they put this tripe on. They can put on a show with real musical talent for about the same cost and get the same ratings, but for whatever reason, they don't. They choose to put on karaoke night at the local bar. If you think these singers are any good, please don't drive, you are over the legal limit.

There have been many singers on The Voice that have very good voices with great range and good pitch. You could not have watched the show much to make this statement. X Factor is different. The Voice has a lot of talent. Many of the singers have better voices than the judges/coaches, all of whom are big successes in the music industry.

It's next to impossible to make it big as a singer, so a show like the Voice gives these performers an opportunity to showcase their talent. The music industry isn't interested in talent, they are looking for the next Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus.

You're totally wrong about this. The singers on these shows are incredible, they are the best of the best out there, the bar is REALLY high, half the time these singers come out and do cover songs better than the original artist.

The competition to get on these shows is extremely high, this is not "Jersey Shore" where they just pick out the most outrageous idiots and put them on camera.
