"According to the New York State Racing and Wagering Board, $2 bets placed at New York City Off-Track Betting and processed through AmTote were deposited into wagering pools as $200 bets.
Thoroughbred facilities affected were Aqueduct, Golden Gate Fields, Gulfstream Park, Indiana Downs, Keeneland Race Course, and Tampa Bay Downs."

"The NYSRWB will launch an investigation into exactly what happened and where the problem occurred.

"Whether these transactions were corrupted by an act of commission or the omission of proper oversight, it's a very bad situation," Sabini said. "It's another example of tote integrity coming up short."

An RCI representative said the transactions that were registered for the wrong amount occurred in exotic pools other than the superfecta. The representative said the problem did not involve win, place, or show wagers."

Steve Crist brought up rather strange P6 winning combos in his DRF 'CristBlog' recently...could someone be testing out new pool tampering programs?

Did they pay off as $200 wagers?Apparently they did pay off some of those wagers, if I heard the comments from the CHRB meeting correctly. One of them said they guessed the liability might be in the millions. Supposedly they were working on the system while it was “live", I believe is how they put it. Not good.

AmTote error caused incorrect wagering transactions

"Keech said customers who cashed the affected tickets during the one-hour window before New York City OTB was shut off would have received 100-times as much money as they would have expected. Also affected were all of the payouts at the affected pools of the tracks, as the odds and payouts were incorrect because of the mistake."

With my luck my $200 bet would have been processed as a $2 bet.
