see in the general racing forum that new poster Chenoa has an interesting thread about tracks that should be shut down.

thought i'd start a similar thread for poker rooms so here are my top five from the mid atlantic region:

5. golden nugget (ac) interest just doesn't seem to be there.

4. mount airy haven't been back since they moved the room upstairs but doesn't sound like things have gotten better?

3. pid/mnr zero to two games a night?

2. trop/ taj (ac) two toilets not even connected to bravo and using the same tables since the beginning of time. taj was supposed to reopen in july? uhh? it's july!!

1. Hollywood " _____" the equivalent of manu918's great track closing answer of sa,gp,gg, pim, lrl. highest rake and lowest comps around. what a combination!!

* penn national $1.50 hotdog coupons were the apex of a sorry history.

* Charles town
once had the best action around. didn't even try to keep it. mgm nails coffin shut in 3-2-1.... sad.

* perryville to quote ricky watters: "for who, for what..."

I don't think there's any shot of the Taj reopening. I went there for their last night in February assuming that they would never reopen for "old times sake" and it felt like I was in Biff Tannen's Pleasure Paradise Casino & Hotel from Back to the Future.

when i have gone to a few poker rooms all i have seen are some pretty large chops in the limit games that i have witnessed.

years ago when i played 7 stud in large poker rooms in Vegas, the top chop for a $30-$60 game was $2 per pot. if the hand made it to the river often times there was more than $1500 in the pot.

Perryville, mt airy need to be shut down

I was hired as a shift manager at perryville after the first day of training I said **** this and went back to revel in Atlantic city

Mt airy is useless as far as poker goes

Mohegan sun in Connecticut is on fumes and Foxwoods which has best game selection in country aside from commerce will be in trouble when twin rivers in Rhode Island opens a 16 table room for poker

Should start a thread....."opening day taj roll call"

They won't do terrible and when I go to AC that's where I'll play, at the end of the day the taj is still the taj and I would assume they will get back the stud crowd, as a poster "on the other site" said when the taj was the taj thier comps were the best in city limits

Taj > borgata

Taj > borgata

idk? i'm a boardwalk guy but i'd say borgata for the cocktail waitresses alone.

wonder if what they were saying about no rake at taj for six months is true though???

I would bet any amount I could afford that when the ball drops on new years eve the taj will still be open.....

Will miss the black chips at the taj my 2nd favorite casino chip second only to the trops greens, they have a sparkle in them that no other casino has

Side note visited 2 other poker rooms in the past few weeks, rivers casino which was ok and the meadows racetrack which I loved, a room that overlooked the track was really nice to play in sub par dealers imo

don't imagine the dealers get a lot of practice there but the room sounds really cool actually.

see a vegas room THE LINQ is closing tomorrow.
