I haven't done a statistical study, but my impression is that he is terrific on soft/yielding turf courses (as you might expect from a French emigre), and somewhat less than terrific the farther away he gets from that specialty.

I'm glad somebody started a post on this. I dread it when I pick a horse and he's on it. In fact, when I get the time I'm going to run some stats on it with him on favorites and on my top horses. I'll call it the "Leparoux Factor".

I will make this simple. He sucks. Period. Most overrated jockey of all time.

He was pretty much skewered by the press and internet experts after his ride and subsequent replacement on Union Rags.

As I recall he changed agents as well.

It is a mystery though from multiple eclipse awards to obscurity almost overnight.

How about his ride in race 1 on the fave?

He waited so long to get the horse going that it seemed he thought he was in a 2 mile race.

OK so 2-52 means he's due right?!?

Been doing OK with 2YO FTS on the turf at SAR. Going use his 15-1 in the 4th today. McPeak has a dismal record with these as did Jenkins yesterday on the winner in the last. Couple this with JP and it's every reason not to bet the hoss.

So that's my 'angle' - enjoy my parimutuel dollars!

Funny thing is that as bad as he is, he will probably bring in a 100 dollar winner and get his ROI into the black as a 3 for 100 jock.

Wow, this guy looks done. Rode a major contender in the 14th race and just looked too terrified to do anything. Looked horrible on the horse, looked like he was just trying to stay aboard.

His Spa record is what it says he is.

Exercise riders are better than him, and most likely that's where he's heading.

He's probably the only one in the hole world that is looking forward to Churchill opening!
