foreign racing

Know any comprehensive (or otherwise) books about foreign racing and rating methods?

Hi,

there are many books about UK racing. I really like the books from Nick Mordin.
You can find many books at www.highstakes.co.uk or They have nearly all the books, that were published about racing in the UK with a description.
Another source for old and second hand betting books from the UK is
www.browzersbooks.co.uk .

I hope this helps...

Greetings
Tim

mordin

I just purchased mordin's Winning Without Thinking, and it's very, very good.

Thanks for your comment.

DRF has on by Alan Shubak that is a good overview of the various tracks there. I found it pretty helpful the last two years the BC was at SA.

Thanks Tom:

I chanced upon that title, but the Amazon reviews were pretty hostile. Something about "it's a traveler's intro to the grounds and places to stay"...

so, does it cover any handicapping insights about the time-form and such?

Not really a lot of handicapping, mostly info about how the tracks are laid out
and some how they run.

I knew little about any Euro courses, so to me, it was all new. I used it a s a reference, not a read through cover to cover.

Charlie D. might lead you to some good stuff.

again thanks

I purchased the book (used, so..). The preview material on DRF seemed informative enough to warrant the price.

Hi thelyingthief

Help on understanding ratings

http://www.britishhorseracing.com/in...ndicapping.asp

http://www.timeform.com/display_arti...t_Timeform.asp

> How Timeform handicaps.. and Handicapping two years olds.

I suppose you could call this http://www.theracingforum.co.uk/horse-racing-forum/UK version of PA . Introduce yourself, tell them you're interested in handicapping/betting on UK racing and some of the members may be more helpful than any book you can purchase as it contains Owners, Professional Bettors, Timeform handicappers , British horseracing authority employees, racing journalists etc, etc.
