Are you sure about that date? I just glanced at the Monmouth stakes schedule and I don't see anything she is eligible for on July 24.

It's on Twitter. They will probably make a race up for her.

They have a prep for the Molly Pitcher called the Lady's Secret there on Aug 1. Maybe the bendable folks at Monmouth have agreed to move it up on the calendar in lieu of an appearance fee.

July 24th at Monmouth and then the Aug 29th Personal Ensign at Saratoga would be nice.

http://www.thoroughbredtimes.com/
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rachel's Next Race: Lady's Secret at Monmouth
http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-raci...et-at-monmouth
Excerpt:
Rachel Alexandra, who won the Haskell Invitational (gr. I) at Monmouth Park last season en route to being named Horse of the Year, will return to the New Jersey racetrack July 24 for the Lady’s Secret Stakes. The $400,000 ungraded race is run at 1 1/8 miles.
Excerpt:
The Lady’s Secret was originally scheduled to be run on Aug. 1 as part of the Haskell Day card. However, with Rachel Alexandra running, the race has been moved to July 24, and the purse has been increased to $400,000. If Rachel Alexandra is unable to compete in the Lady’s Secret, the purse will revert to the originally scheduled $150,000.

Mine That Bird is running on grass in the Firecracker...
Rachel Alexandra back at Monmouth Park is great. I'll head down for that for sure. I hope it's a great day. The Haskell last year was a sloppy, humid mess.

It is pretty sad when the change the date and the distance of the race to accommodate one horse. Aren't there enough watered down stakes races to choose from these days without adjusting some?
I would be none too happy if a race was changed within a month of its running and I had targeted a horse to it.

andy...ya beat me to it ...I'm not exactly in favor of making so many changes for a race just to accomodate someone...but, in this case, I can see why Monmouth would do this...Rachel will attract a full house and the money will pour in.
All that matters, IMO, is that we'll get to see Rachel run again ...then I won't be surprised to see her in the Personal Ensign (as someone mentioned).
I'm just as happy as can be ...now we'll have to wait and see how many trainers are brave enough to enter against her.

Stevie Belmont got tweeted. He broke the story.
It's a little surprising they did this with Monmouth.
Who knows how the real deal was made and what it took to make it.

Had a feeling this may happen. When they left churchill because of the heat and humidity I thought the saratoga race (believe august 2nd) was doubtful as anyone who has gone to the spa knows it can be a hot mess there in early August. Monmouth plays cooler and I guess they will go back for the grade 1for mares at the end of the meet or try the woodward depending on the whitney results.

I'm happy Monmouth Park picked up the name Lady's Secret after it was tossed in Cali. And I'm thrilled that Rachel will be running in it's inaugural run of the race. That should bring out the class so it can once again become a G1 race.

I've given the Mosses plenty of grief, and Jackson certainly deserves some here. This is pretty pathetic. She wins her last by a football field in great time and the next logical step is an ungraded race? There were plenty of available options in place. I almost wish both of them had been retired the way they are being campaigned.
