You can set-up your own tournaments that pay real money with $0 taken out. That's nice, but in order to play in said tournaments, I assume you have to have a BetAmerica account? That's fine, it's their site. But do you have to make real bets of some amount in order to make bets in a tournament, or can you use play money?

Real Money bets have to be used in the tourneys. No play money. The bet minimum and maximum is set sup by the tournament creator along with many other options..

Can you set it up so the tournament players can make minimal $2 bets but still have a decent size prize pool?

There's a Golden Gate/Santa Anita tourney at BetAmerica today..$4 entry fee with a $21 bankroll..It's a PLACE contest. If 5 players enter then an additional 10 bucks is added to 1st , 2nd and 3rd..If 10 players enter..Then $25 is added to 1st, 2nd and 3rd payouts along with the entry fee payouts ..Bankroll money is real money wagers that is used in these tourneys if you didn't know that..So players have to think twice about throwing money on 50-1's because there betting real money..
