I know everyone on here loves premierturfclub, and I think its great too and how an account their, but what about bookmakers.com or sportsbook.com they both offer 3% WPS rebates and 8% on all exotics and they offer must tracks. The 8% beats PTC in many of the tracks and 3% is about even for WPS. They only draw backs w/ sportsbook.com is the their are max payout limits on wagers (750-1 on exacts and 1000-1 on tris and so on) The way I bet I doubt that would effect me. Am I missing something with why no one talks about these sites?

They are off shore sites and your money is not mingled in the pools.

The downside is they are technically illegal, money transfers are a hassle, and collecting winnings can be a nightmare.

Some of the offshore sites appear to be legit in that they have agreements with the host tracks to co-mingle the bets or provide some sort of restitution, but most are "booking" the bets the way racebooks did in Vegas prior to the advent of commingling. Therefore, you usually have limits on payouts and if you roll up a nice balance, good luck collecting. As much as I detest take out from pools going to state and local governments, I certainly don't mind the host track getting a fair share for purses and operating expenses.

Anyone here use link2bet, advertised here on this site? Looks like they have plenty of dog tracks, if that's what you're in to, though you have to provide them your SSN, which has got to deter many U.S. players...

Im just youbet & twinspires...mostly youbet lately. Did alot on sportsbooks.com back in the day. Its was great but it went downhill the last few years. I always got paid but.....it was a nightmare as mentioned if you like waiting like 90 for a check. Been doing my action @ bodog. Not sure about the horse rebates....but I be getting paid. Do a little cashout on sunday and I have a check in my hand in like 3 days. bam

I use 5dimes for most of my sports betting, and sometimes place horse bets on there as well. The upside is that they offer a 10% bonus on all wins. The downside is what CJ said.

I used to use them for the tracks that PTC doesn't carry. They essentially offer the same tracks as Greyhound Channel (which used to be Paydog), and even have the same flawed interface as GC's Direct Bet. The main difference is that Link2Bet is located on the Isle of Man.

Since GC got its new interface, I've been using them instead for the tracks PTC doesn't handle.

The one offshore I can suggest is Bet Jamaica. 3% on the tracks they offer, and payouts come to me within days. The 3% just goes right into your account . Also, with football season coming up the bonuses for opening an account will get you some extra $$.

I don't recommend using any offshore books if you live in the United States. While some (certainly not all) books may be reputable and always pay out, there's the possibility of the Feds getting involved, resulting in the freezing of money, meaning the player may have to wait a long time to get paid, or possibly not get paid at all.

Just checked out "Link2Bet". They have a pretty good lineup of thoroughbred tracks and the pools are co-mingled with the tracks.

As a Texas resident, I'm interested because it appears they allow Texas residents to wager on Texas tracks, which no ADW in the US does. Sounds good from here.

Anyone have any negatives, other than that it's offshore and they want your SSN#?

One could always keep their account bankroll at a minimum by withdrawing the excess, in case the US Gov. decides to step in and freeze accounts. That way you wouldn't be risking much.

This is a valid point, never leave a large balance in an offshore book. Even if the company is reputable, you never know when Uncle Sam will put the heat on. I still can't believe that this stupid govt we have doesn't allow the Amer. owned casinos to take bets.

Pandy, the stupid government you mentioned is not the government we have now. Those laws were put thru by republicans when they had control of congress, with a strong push from the socalled "christian (sic) right". R-John Kyl of Ariz and R-Bill Frist of Tenn I believe were the main culprits.

Pandy, until we change campaign funding and set term limits for Congress, almost all our politicians are bought and paid for. But, there's a democrat thats trying to change the law. I'd make a max bet that you won't see any republican co-sponsers. Its real easy to say you don't like them all, but with a little effort the gambler, and the blue collar worker in this country should know whose on their side.

There have certainly been some Republicans who are for term limits, and it was a Republican, John McCain, who pushed through a campaign finance bill. But when it comes to gambling, both parties are clueless. Look at health care, if they legalized sports betting and also let the U.S. based casinos take horse bets with rebates, they could use the extra tax revenue, which would be in the billions, to pay for health care. Instead, they'll push through some half-assed health care reform, with no tort reform, health care costs will continue to go up, and they will tax us all to pay for it. And the tax will continue to go up, up, and up, just like all taxes.
