Pins Available Next Week!
In about ten days the Charter Member HANA pins for 2009 will be in our hot little hands. These are a limited edition offering. The price is $20. Right now we do not have a fancy way for you to buy them like we are Amazon.com. But we do have two ways.
1. Our paypal link. All you have to do is pay from your paypal account (minimum donation $20) and let us know in the subject line that you would like a pin. If you send us an email (horseplayersassociation@gmail.com) with your mailing address we will make sure you get them pronto!
2. By Check. Similarly under the above link our mailing address is listed. Send us minimum $20 and a return address and we send you a pin.
The $20 will go back into HANA, and back into helping us grow and change the game for the better. We do not charge member fees, nor do we have a large financial backer. The board members place their own capital into the organization to get it off the ground (as well as several donations, and purchases from the HANA Store that we thank you for!), but it is tough to do anything worthwhile for members on a shoestring, so we really appreciate your support should you choose to order a pin. We are growing each day and we would like to see that continue.
These member pins are pretty unique and a great way to say you are a horseplayer who loves the game and wants to see it grow. Order one today!
Thanks from the HANA Team

I hear you can get free drinks at any track bar with one of those pins. I'm not saying it's true, but I'm not saying it isn't, either.

If you happen to be sending a check either for a pin or a general contribution to offset costs, please shoot me a PM so I know its coming. It was getting too depressing looking at our box week after week with no mail in it so I don't exactly drop by the box every day.

I heard a rumour that one out of every four pins (chosen at random) will help you see up to 2 and a half minutes into the future. Not saying it is true, but that rumour is out there.
Rumour making the rounds is that the manufacturer is using the same technology as Xray glasses, and we all know how popular they were in the 70's and 80's.

The one thing I will point out about sending a check versus utitlizing Paypal is that Paypal charges a fee each time so we are not getting the full amount whereas with a check we get the benefit of the full amount.

I guess we should have been more specific on the pins themselves. Some guy named DeanT is the doofus.
So here you go:
Type: Die Struck
Plating: Antique Silver
Epoxy: No
Size: 1” x 0.6"

I am pleased to report that the HANA Charter Member Pins are in and will be shipped out within the next few days to those who have already placed an order. I am also happy to report that they do look pretty nice and for what its worth, I personally give them a rating.

I am happy to report that everyone who has sent in a pin order has had their orders processed and their pin(s) are in the mail so you should receive them within the next few days since half were sent yesterday with the remaining mailed this afternoon. If you live in Canada, I had to fill out a form for them to go through Customs first so they take a few days more to get to you. If you do not receive one or have any problems with your order please e-mail me at the contact e-mail I enclosed with your order.
A big Thank you to everyone who placed an order, your support is greatly appreciated and I hope you enjoy your pin(s).

got my pins today and the fliers, pretty snazzy.
Apparently this pin gets you a free $100 voucher at the track. Dean said all I have to do is show it to the guy at the IRS window and tell him I want "100 HANAbucks" please. He asked me to video tape it to put on Youtube, to show the noobies how it's done. Can't wait!

Very important for horseplayers. Means that when the race starts you will probably know what the closing odds will be. I say "probably" because as everyone knows, in this game the only absolutes are takeout and breakage.

Dean, Jeff, Miesque and members of the board and to all HANA members:
Keep up the good work, my donation has been sent to you via Pay Pal, and I look forward to adding this pin to my horse racing memorabilia collection while supporting a very worthwhile cause at the same time!
All the Best,
Boomer
