Handicapping Contest

I would like to take this opportunity to invite all of the PA members to our 3rd annual Yavapai Downs Handicapping Contest Aug 16 and 17, 2008. The tournament is a live bankroll event with a $100 entry fee (returned as prize money) and a $400 live bankroll play which consists of 10 wagers of $20 win and place on races from Yavapai Downs (5 mandatory races from Yavapai) and a pool of races to choose from at Saratoga and Del Mar. We will be holding a separate tournament each day with 2 all expense paid spots to the 2009 Horseplayer World Series in Las Vegas being guaranteed and $2000 in prize money being added to the kitty. Feel free to PM me if you have questions, as a limited number of discounted motel rooms are also available. We had 72 entries last year, and of course the mountains of Northern Arizona are a great place to visit during the summer time with all sorts of great things to see and experience (including the Grand Canyon) a short drive away.

Hope to meet many of you in August!!!!

I like this format as it actually forces bettors to leave the tourney with some cash. Looks like a great tourney in the making.

Format

Thanks nj: 3 years ago we tried to come up with something that was beneficial to everyone: The track (handle) the players (live bankroll) and to eliminate the 80x1 "shot" taking that you see in mythical bankroll tourneys......This format seemed to do the trick. It now has grown to where sponsors have added $2000 in prize money, and our goal is to make it a little bigger and better each year. Hope you can make it!

Dates Change for Yavapai Downs Handicapping Tournament

We apologize for any inconvenience a change in dates may have caused, but because of a scheduling conflict, The 3rd Annual Yavapai Downs Qualifier for the 2009 Horseplayer World Series has been moved to August 23 and August 24, 2008. The Days Inn of Prescott Valley and Antelope Hills Inn of Prescott, Az are the two host motels and will offer discounted rates on a first-come-first-serve-basis. More info will be available soon on the Yavapai Downs website at www.yavapaidownsatpv.com. The tournament format will be the same as previous years and is on the website as well.

Hope to see you soon, pm me if you have any questions.........
