A Fish Story
When will he ever learn.
http://www.dnr.state.md.us/dnrnews/p...6/031606a.html
"Last weekend, Phil Deer, Jr. of Delta, Pennsylvania caught a record setting yellow perch in a pond in Harford County. The perch is the largest ever caught in Maryland and the fourth largest on record in the world. DNR confirmed the perch’s size as 3 pounds, 5 ounces and 16 ¼ inches long, which eclipsed the Maryland record of 2 pounds 6.75 ounces set at Deep Creek Lake in 2003. Worldwide, Deer’s fish places behind a 4 pound, 3 ounce perch caught in New Jersey in 1865; a 3 pound, 12 ounce perch caught in Michigan in 1947; and a 3 pound, 8 ounce perch caught in New York in 1982. All records are for the fresh water division."

"Bush's best moment in office? Reeling in big perch
Reuters
Monday, May 8, 2006; 1:14 AM
BERLIN (Reuters) - President Bush told a German newspaper his best moment in more than five years in office was catching a big perch in his own lake.
"You know, I've experienced many great moments and it's hard to name the best," Bush told weekly Bild am Sonntag when asked about his high point since becoming president in January 2001.
"I would say the best moment of all was when I caught a 7.5 pound perch in my lake," he told the newspaper in an interview published on Sunday.
I guess another whopper from bush is nothing new
Ya think he got special treatment from those record guys? What would happen if any of us lied about catching a big fish ??
Maybe jail time even

Damn Ralph you were all over that one. What are you going to do next, explain that there is more than one kind of bass and more than one kind of trout. Heck, there's even more than one kind of catfish. You would think when DU throws stuff out there, they would at least check if they are going to make themselves look foolish when they do it.

Vacate That Lofty Perch
Hcap,
You're fishing, Counselor. Objections sustained. That smelt. Are those the Scales of Justice falling from your "catch?" Also guilty of solicetacean, as that's a whale of a story. Abe Vigoda is spinning in his grave.
I sentence you to one viewing of any fishing show on television, preferably one with Terry Bradshaw.

It is truly amazing what some people thin is important, and even more amazing how easy it is to get them to believe things. Sign of a small mind, or lack of education, I guess.
All some people see is anything that supports thier biased views and it is automatically assumed to be fact.
This from the party that doesn't know whether to fish or cut bait!
Perch on this, Gadabout Gaddis!

And what's really shocking is, he isn't even dead yet!
(He makes occasional comedic guest appearances on Late Night With Conan O'Brien. One night, in honor of the latest Solar Eclipse, they had a total Vigoda Eclipse, which had him sitting in a chair, and slowly moved him so that his face slowly eclipsed Conan as he decribed the scene with scientific excitement. Hokey, silly, lighthearted stuff, of course. Admittedly, it'd have been better viewed while totally wasted.

People magazine mistakenly reported Abe Vigoda's death in 1982. Twenty years later, people still stop Vigoda on the street and tell him he looks like the late Abe Vigoda.
He isn't dead.........but looks more like Boris Karloff every day..........

Still a fish story no matter how you slice and dice it. Someone in the WH
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/relea...0060507-2.html
decided the " perch" although maybe a nile perch- I admit he could have stocked his lake with a nile perch--was really a bass.
So I guess the germans didn't get it right. Or the WH figured the weight of the perch raised too much skepticism. In any case, catching a big fish as bushs' best moment??? Huh.
Q Three last very short questions. What was the most wonderful moment in your terms of being President so far, and what was the most awful moment?
THE PRESIDENT: The most awful moment was September the 11th, 2001.
...The best moment was -- you know, I've had a lot of great moments. I don't know, it's hard to characterize the great moments. They've all been busy moments, by the way. I would say the best moment was when I caught a seven-and-a-half pound large mouth bass on my lake. (Laughter.)
You can either laugh with him, or at him. To me he is either drama queen or a clown. Or both.

Somebody got the story bass awkward, or "ach"-word, in the case of the Teutons. I'm more confused than ever, , but I THINK I get the point --- the President should remember saving babies or signing some treaty.
