Thumbs up Queen conquers Boys

What a fun race out at Santa Anita today as the filly Kalookan Queen beat the boys in the G2 Potrero Grande. The clear choice among the crowd, the speedy filly didn't get the best or cleanest of trips, but after looking like she might be ready to surrender in upper stretch, she managed to keep digging for the wire and got the job done in 1:15.31 for the 6.5 furlongs after dueling through opening fractions of :21.78 and 44.66.

Thanks for the race report, Observer. The race went off too late for me to see it here in New York. I was glad to see Kalookan Queen win it. She is a tough knocking horse, and is now a Grade I winner with a victory over males to boot.
