I know some accounts on Twitter that have, indeed, been shadowbanned but not for political reasons. Not sure exactly how it works, but one account holder told me it affects the number of new followers (although they can still tweet).

They tweet, but nobody can see it. This story should be a huge item. It’s not because they are banning pro Trumpers and other Conservatives. The media goes along with it.
It’s more Silicon Valley politics. San Francisco, Palo Alto etc could fall off the face of the earth tomorrow and our country would be better for it

Twitter is a private company , they can do what they want.If people are all outraged and stop using it, they will go out of business and they'll be nothing to get people's panties in a twist about.Trump uses it, so how anti-conservative can they be? Much ado about nothing, as usual.The world is still spinning, and at last check,no one has died from shadowbanning.

Wrong! Twitter is a publicly traded company. They are not private. They are breaking the law. Whether it’s civil or criminal, picking and choosing who gets to speak or use the service based on politics can be very problematic.
