Foreigners that like the harder surface ?

Does anyone know of a few foreign tracks to look for that when the foreigners have come over to the states that have done well on the grass in America ?

Just thought I would ask you guys , figuring someone might know ?

The track that resembles US turf tracks the most is Chester.
Tight left handed turns on a 9 furlong oval - speed is often at an advantage.
Trouble is, there aren't many top races run there, especially later in the year.

As far as firm turf goes, most Euro horses don't race on anything comparable.
Highland Reel took to it last year at Santa Anita, and a title defense was always going to be high on his dance card. He's not as good as others over there, and Ulysses has performed better than him this year. However, Michael Stoute's charge was well beaten in last year's BC Turf. Why are they trying again? Probably because Ulysses is better this year, and he may have had a legitimate excuse that day.

Both of those horses will have to be at their best to beat Beach Patrol.
He has looked like a monster lately.

I am gonna disagree here, the Reel has always been a firm turf specialist.
He's had 9 runs on less than good ground and has no wins.

Highland Reel record on Good or better tracks.

16-9-4-1-1-1. The reel hates off turf. Never won on it and lost to second and third raters on off turf.

The last two races are toss outs for me.

Last two times the Reel faced Ulysses on a good or better track.

It was a win for the reel

Maybe frankie lets moore get a clear lead like last year.

I simply prefer the horses who prepped on Arc weekend personally and if they are juveniles going a route distance.

I have no doubt that Highland Reel likes firm turf.
He doesn't get the type of ground over there that he got a year ago at SA.
O'Brien has targeted this race for him since then.
He'll be favorite, and he will take beating.

I doubt he will have the lead this time, though.
Oscar Performance is very quick, but isn't likely to last more than 10 furlongs.
Highland Reel will be fine sitting just behind him, and leading turning for home.
Can either Ulysses, Decorated Knight, or Beach Patrol, run him down?
That's the big question.

Agree with what others have said, Highland Reel strongly prefers firm turf. Here are some quotes from his trainer from October 22:

"We were delighted with his run. He has been off a long time and he is not a soft ground horse, but we were over the moon with his run," said O'Brien.

"That (America) is what we would be thinking about. It was the only place we could get a little bit better ground, by going over the far side."

I'm very intrigued by Cliffs of Moher in this spot. He's always been highly thought of (perhaps more so than the 2 favorites at the same point in their careers). He will need to improve but no reason he can't run a lifetime top here... 1st lasix, gets weight, will probably get some pace, and I suspect he's another that may prefer firm turf

O'Brien has had a couple recent 3 year olds who looked slow, freak in the turf 1st lasix... Found and Magician
