They get free purse money from the casinos. They cant have Simulcast with out live racing. The otb at NH will cater to the high end bettors. The bettors at RCR. Will never go to the harbor to bet. They use it as a multi use facility. The low Handle doesn't matter. They rent a huge parking lot to MGM. The track has low overhead and makes a profit. They close it i bet Ratlands and Mohawk/Woodbine. Sunday i hit the pk5 for 499.00. The payouts are good. I dont care about big pools. I Hit a few supers which payed good also.
