JFK, the right-wing extremist, inaugural address

Had the chance to watch and listen to the famous JFK inaugural speech this morning. This self-described liberal would be run out of town on a razor blade by today's liberals.

Imagine saying that you should ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country? That's crazy talk. Today's liberals think government cannot be too big, so they can do everything for you.

Then there was that right wing line, "we pledge our best efforts to help them help themselves Whoa. No liberal wants that. You help everybody and self-respect be damned. Who is this fascist with his far right ideology?

This aint your father's Democratic Party.

Most understood more about JFK after he died then when he was alive. Many were frightened by his aggressiveness which is exactly how a good leader should be.

not just more conservative, but probably 10 times more. but i understand where the man is coming from, he thinks because the guy was a democrat its right to label him a liberal.

also what is interesting is that once a guy gets voted in or appointed which was the case with Lyndon Johnson, they are something different. LBJ was regarded as pretty liberal once he became president. he brought you medicare and medicaid. those 2 programs along with social security are anything but conservative programs.

Trump talked about it, JFK did it - right in the WH, with his wife and kids at home.

Kennedy labeled HIMSELF as a liberal. Back then, liberals were also Americans who did not hate American values.

https://newrepublic.com/article/1155...ogetic-liberal

A liberal, he said in one speech, “cares about the welfare of the people—their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties,” and under that definition, he said, “I’m proud to say I’m a ‘liberal.’”

LBJ was one of the sickest individuals to hold the office. He used to hold meetings while he was on the toilet -- with the door open. He could not understand what the big deal was with JFK and his extramarital affairs because he had so many more. He openly treated Lady Byrd like a piece of crap.

Skinny dipping in the indoor pool with his bimbos, with SS guarding the door to keep Jackie out.

JFK had his faults when it came to carrying on affairs, but nobody is perfect. He seems to have a bit more discretion than Slick Willy. The real mystery is why he cheated when he had a wife that was as classy as Jackie O. There's no mystery as to why Slick Willy cheated.

JFK did use drugs, related to his war injuries and Addison's. I'm more critical of his failure to disclose that to the public, versus drug use to combat the pain.

On the plus side, he did serve honorably during WW2, though getting a PT boat run over by a cruiser brings into question some navigation skills. He got the country through the Cuban Missile Crisis without nuclear war breaking out, and appears to have had plans to revamp the CIA, stay out of Vietnam, and take on The Fed. Being assassinated, of course, gives his legacy the benefit of the doubt on many issues - we'll of course never know how effective his second term would have been.

Like most people, you can cherry-pick the facts of JFK's life to paint the desired picture. IMHO, he was our last true President not bought and paid for by the Deep State. Time will tell how tight the leash is on Trump.

Listen to him yourself. He was more conservative than Ronald Reagan.

So you consider that acceptable behavior?
