I once hit a nice tri at the old Beulah Park for $450. In my excitement after cashing the ticket and betting the next race, I forgot to return my balance. After sitting back down with my friends, I realized my mistake. Of course, when I went back to the machine I was using, nothing. As I turned the corner in shame heading back to the table, I noticed one of my buddies schmerking. All I said was "let me have it". He dug in his pocket and handed my balance. Luckily, that ginger SOB used the same machine after me.

i have " hit for the cycle" on this one. There was the time in Vegas i bet a dime to win at Turfway only to try and cash and discover that the teller had punched Turf Paradise. Or the time i bet Belmont and went to cash my ticket and somehow i had bet a different track. This was at a SAM machine, they move the positions of the tracks on the screen as they open or close for the days betting. Or the time i cashed by betting my picks on the wrong race at GP and hit a nice longshot. It all happens.

Don't feel bad. I once punched 16 pick 6 tickets. All ending to the 25. 15 of them had 25 to close it out. One of them by error only had the 5. I realized it right after the 1st leg started.

Do I need to finish the story? The 2 won, paid $26,000 plus....
