Nor are big tracks a cinch to evade the vicious cycle. It might merely take longer for them to become infected and phased out.
Dinosaurs just take longer to fall.

I did say everywhere. I don't get the dinosaur analogy. Tracks that were basically dead were revived with slots.

Large, powerful creatures that enjoy a long reign. And as far as dead tracks being revived, a healthier bottom line won't preclude major ovals from chasing slots. And plenty might WELL get them. States lust for gaming revenues, and horseracing has by far proven the best leverage to expedite the process and obtain a license.

Porky Pig.. that... that.. that's all folks
too bad. US racing could learn a little from HK and Japan. interactive
handicapping tools. This is the computer age, the hell with the racing form.
I should be able to find the right Horse for a race WITH ONE CLICK
I should be able to attend the track open up a tablet and request the fastest 2f par horse last out in the 4th or the highest win Trainer/Jockey combo. with a click. etc etc.
cell phones, tablets, queries, the bleeping cloud!!!!!
it's the stock market
as long as the game tailored to old people....it's over

On a personal note, given the unique range of rolls I fill at mnr, I SHOULD be confident of being called back this spring-but nobody, myself included, is resting all that easily these days.
With that said, however, I'm a realist who never expected such a long successful run, and I'm well-satisfied with our legacy and body of work.
And, incidentally, if I HAVE been canned, permanently, that is, it's not NEARLY as traumatic as I would have expected. My confidence and sense of self remain virtually unshaken.
I'm now backed by two separate whales, and Mahoning is easy pickings.
Thumbs down to Mahoning, by the way, for routinely running out of forms, refusing to change monitors in the upstairs sports bar to the local product, and failing to anticipate today's large crowd. Some of the omens there are not real encouraging.

when I lived near AC before Casinos came. "seasonal unemployment" was after Miss America Pageant to Easter Seemed like the entire town sat in clubs and drank all winter.
Mahoning is easy pickings = not always. I can't figure out the right pace there. I let the computer pick em.

Our handicapping styles might differ, sir. When it comes to Ohio racing, I would recommend a more intuitive and less regimented approach. It's not the place for machine-like repetition of recent or top figures.
And in my opinion, the pools are stupid and leave openings.
Happy holidays and best of luck.
