Holy bejeebus.

11/1 and sets a new track record at Saratoga.

I'm still not sure I believe what I just saw.
It's things like this that just make ya laugh and smile and not give two shits about what happened with your bet. Live for it!

Thanks Cincy,

Pretty sure I remember you from TC if I recall... if not from there... here. (as I use to focus on Mountaineer years back before Dale Baird passed away.)

Same here. I lost $30 in pick 3s and had a bunch of dime supers. Hate losing cash, but that was fun to watch.

You can always get cash, you rarely see one of the top 5 performances by a 3 year-old in history.

Didn't see that coming.

Not sure you can say the track was speed favoring today based on the results...you had some off the pace winners, some longshots who ran well off the pace, and you had some front running favorites do well. All in all seemed like a pretty fair main track at first blush.

Final times other than A.P. Indian's didn't come anywhere close to track records on the dirt...

Color me extremely impressed...

And isn't this why we love the sport! Had nothing at stake - enjoyed the stretch run and the final time.

New contender for the BC Classic and HOTY.

I think we'll see the main track as speed favoring, but like you said, nobody was even close to setting track records in a number of G1 races and very very good horses running today.

And then....., bang!. Arrogate happens. 11/1 horses don't win the Travers by a football field, much less break track records and 37 year old race records.

Too be honest, this might be the best performance by any horse since Secretariat's Belmont.

Versus THIS field? Yes..It was a fantastic performance.
Save for Nyquist, this was about the best this year's crop of 3yo's that could make it to Upstate NY...And they got dusted by a dozen lengths...
Not only that, the winner was in the middle of a very hot( for 10f) pace and not only did that not take anything out of the horse, he sprinted home in sub 24 second last quarter.
