I dont throw money away at this game. I bet real money and win real money.
2) if a trainer threw a jock off their horse every time they thought something was up , they wouldn't have a jockey to ride.
To be clear, racing at Belmont has been great IMHO. No concerns this meet. Aqueduct this past winter was absolutely disgusting. My question is , yet again: does anyone care that brothers cousins and married people are all running in the same race?
Evidently not. My question was answered. Be well gang.

TLG I love ya man. In a manly way. I DO spend 90% of my leisure time studying and taking notes. It does do us good. And yes, you're right, the 30 minutes spent on here is 30 minutes away from my replay / chart work. I asked a valid question. Nothing wrong with 75% of everyone's answer being : never and I see nothing wrong with it.
We agree to disagree.
I dont blame you for going on twitter and calling out stuff. In fact I commend you.
I can appreciate your role at NYRA & I apologize for putting you in a position to feel like you had to answer my question.

You insinuate nefarious doings and criminal actions on the part of grown men behind the anonymity of your computer. It comes across like poop being thrown at a wall.
Track handicappers, who are accountable and very much in the public eye, offer personal critiques of jockey rides that they find strategically odd or poor from an effort standpoint.
Big difference in my book, chief

Wrong again .
I say everything in person to the jocks face on track. Unlike most of you wannabe horseplayers, I'm on track and the typical New York Railbird.

So here's my best answer to this...
No.
First you frame it like its new. Like this hasn't been going on at tracks for decades.
Second, you don't propose any solution. I'm 100% sure NYRA lacks the authority to throw out one Ortiz brother simply because they're brothers. How would you propose they handle this? What would you do?
So I guess I have no problem with it and even if I did which I don't I'm not aware of anything that could be done about it.

My solution would be the following:
If 2 brothers or 2 sisters or father/son etc are both independent contractors at a circuit, no more than 1 could ride in each race. Only exceptions would be graded stakes races.
As for any other conflict of interest. I.E. nephew of steward is a rider then both can't work at the same track.
Two trainers are brothers. Only 1 can enter a race . Except for graded stakes.
