Laoban will make sure Uncle Lino doesn't even hit the board.
i'm not even worried about this horse. obv w/ blinkers off they will try and stalk rate...this horse prolly won't sniff the front end..not to mention might not be good enough to begin with.
most likely he will race poorly and the blinks will go back on next race, and the trainer will say "the experiment didn't work"
But with Oxbow, if you thought goldencents was coming in half as good as he was, he had the potential to walk the entire race comfortably upfront with the favorite stuck on the rail always being stuck on the inside and Mylute having to come from a ways off.
Orb was as iffy of a derby winner as it gets. Does this race set up for Lino the way it did for Oxbow?
or the possibility that they inadvertently let the 9 get out to an easy lead (which doesn't seem likely with the 8 in the race, but then again the 8 has blinkers off).
seems likely to get the lead if it wants it, but if it doesn't, mightn't the be as likely to inherit it as the ? Anybody else? Wire to wire just seems like one of the least implausible scenarios for beating the favorite.
