Power of the buck super
Races 6 and 7 at CD (for example) you get ten times the tri price if u hit the super. You don't see that with dime supers.

I'm humbly agreeing with SRU.
The 13th at Churchill today, we are looking to nickel and dime the final before walking out the door.
We agree on the , and are looking to include another to box in Exactas and Trifectas with the Super heavily on our mind. We are down to the and . If there is a $.10, we likely roll with a $.50 5 horse Super box for $30 clams.
As it is, we go on the cheap, and pay.... dearly.
The $1 Trifecta is nearly a grand, and the $1 Super is over $5K. Yep, the rolls home to win and spits directly in our face.

the super doesn't pay nearly 5k if there's a dime bet available.

Maybe $3,800. I wouldn't complain.

but why take 3800 when you could get 5? just handicap better.
if every track had 2 pools for supers one a dime minimum and one a buck minimum you know what would happen? people would stop betting the dime bet when they saw it almost always pays less than the buck version.

That hurts. Bad.
Still going through my notes for that race.
First note was "Don't be crazy to think about a 1-2-3-4". Second note was the " will likely be overlooked".
Stick the knife in. Turn it. Rip my guts out.

imagine 150,000 patrons calling out their dime super tickets at the windows. Derby Day would become a three day event

Dime supers in a 20 horse field no less! It would take people 8 minutes to bet 2.40!

Hmm. Back in the day when NYRA introduced ther Pick 6...Bettors could use these special pick six cards to fill out their wagers ahead of time. Also, Pick 6 wagers CLOSED 5 mins to post time.
So.....Why not follow suit with the dime super bettors. Either make them fill out a bet card OR stop DIME ( only) super wagering 5 mins to post on busy days.....
