A small timer in northern calif named Barbara Delima (the owner) always seems to be able to get Russell Baze anytime she wants him. Not sure what that's about, but maybe Gaines has the ability to 'pull a delima' and get the leading Jock whenever she needs him.

Well, not anymore. Maybe there was a time.

This is such a non story. I love how buried in his story is the fact he's riding two stakes horses for the Dorf THIS WEEKEND.

So essentially he's still getting the filet off the Dorf cow and Santiago is getting the cheap claimers.

That is the reason why Rosario left California. He wanted mounts in the big races. On all the big race days, the California jocks don't get many mounts in big races. Unless you get lucky enough to have the hot California horse in the triple crown or Breeders Cup races, you don't see many mounts during these big events. I guess you can also include the World Cup.

We were lucky and got on Dancing In Silks at just the right time and the rest was history.
Funny how history turns out. Had Crown of Thorns won instead of Dancing in Silks, I'd have won about enough money to buy Santa Anita and hire you to be the track announcer after Trevor.

So it could have worked out better for both of us.
