Saratoga Thursday

race 1:

HINTERLAND is a high class jumper. Two races back this gelding was third of Dodging Bullets, a horse that two runs later was crowned wolrd champion steeple-chaser over two miles. Here he's dropping many steps of the class ladder and shifting from a burden of 161 pounds to a "light" one of 144. Debuting for a 20% trainer with first time lasix the only knock is the distance: he's a two mile specialist, and 2m 3/4 could be a little too far if the race is run at a solid pace.

At 8-1 I'll buy anyway.

race 3:

tight little heat.

NORM THE GIANT will inherit the lead after the pacestters tire, and maybe the win.

race 4:

KARENINA GAL looks amazingly good in the paddock and was well bet in her debut. Kellyesque is a dangerous visitant from Penn National (good siblings, good work tab and trainer)

win & exacta box

race 5

features 2 obvious, but flawed favorites:

for some reason opens cold on the board... I'm sure will take late money and be closer to 5/2 @ post...

so what do we do here?? key the ?

pass?

maybe this is a rare 'all' race...

MALIBU CHARLIE is firing bullets again and he's going to be very hard to catch with the cut back and the stiff drop in class..

I'm betting cold exacta ...

but I've lost my form in Saratoga, feel knocked down lately (I know I'm not the only one anyway... )

i did not like the , so i bet a double ALL W/ 1,4,5 in the next race.

After the 2 scratches, I cancelled my ALL ticket.

Of course, the longest shot on the board wins...
