It says Race 2 is available in the race replays at nyra.com, but when you click to watch, it says "invalidlink". Race 1 replays fine.
I'll try and watch it later.
Congrats, Rachel's Valentina!

That August 2nd race she won is looking strong. She comes back to win a stakes, and Nickname, beaten 6 3/4 lengths in that race, came back earlier this week to break her maiden in a Saratoga Mdn race.

Anyone start a thread on Songbird yet?
She's going to take all the beating on Oct 30th

I crushed Tap it out. Joel was undecisive early far turn and late far turn. If he realized the soft (not slow but soft flow pace) he would've just sent up Rachel's daughter's behind. He kept looking to maybe go wide or angle out.
I say if he sends his mount earlier (earlier far turn) to commit behind Rachel's Valentina, he wins. He gave his horse too much to do (too much ground to make up from his indecisiveness), got herded out a bit late as well.
Plus, if he would've been right behind her as she angled 7 wide into the lane, he could've just kept a straight line and won. No need to angle 8 wide behind her as their was an opening for a truck into the lane.
Nice ride but with a little more thought and awareness, could have been a perfect ride that turns a place into a win.

Tap To It still appears green and awkward at the gate , Sometimes the jock can do so much but this nice horse has some maturing and gate work to do. RV was the best today , very happy for the connections .

Or there's the correct answer:
Rachel's Valentina has more early speed than Tap to it.
All you have to do is look at the two horses and see the difference in the way they're built.
RV is short and stalky.....built for speed,if looks count for anything she'll be best at one turn.
Tap to it on the other hand is big and long, so of course she's going to be void of any kind of early speed sprinting.
She looks like a Filly that is made for longer races.

I can't really fault the ride, 2nd timer filly by Tapit and those Tapits are tough horses to ride, the winner was just very good and tripped out, if I own the 1 I'm thrilled with the ride, no complaints, that's not a horse you can 'send' she's a long-reign galloping type who just needs to get into stride.

Not taking anything away from her. She ran real well and I wish he was alive to see Rachel's two kids be undefeated.
I wasn't asking for Joel to send at the gate. I was asking for him to fill the gap and commit to following her at the 7/16 and stop looking to go around. His hesitation did cost him that race. He waited till the 5/16 to commit to following her.
Joel's horse isn't the type of horse that could only make one run. She made 3 runs in her debut overcoming loads of trouble.
Guess this is why it's called horse racing, we all have an opinion.
But yes, it's really nice to see Rachel's kids do real well.
