Calder Lawsuit, Gomez/Ore incident

Any thoughts on this?

I watched the replay and expected to see one thing, and saw something different than what i thought i would see.

I was looking for a jock with malice in her heart steering and crashing into rivals, but that's not what it appeared to be.

Almost seemed like the girl who fell could have avoided falling if she grabbed up hard when she saw the pinballing. It appeared that even though she knew of the pinballing action, she still continued to urge her runner and try and fit thru a small hole on the rail and "ran into" a horse in front of her and clipped heels.

Tough call to make here, i know there is "history" between Gomez and Ore, but i don't know if that history makes it automatic that Gomez was trying to cause an accident...that didn't seem to be the case on the replay.

I might give an opinion on this if I knew what you are talking about. You would have to supply more information than what was in your original post.

That could have been prevented. Looks like the claim is legit to me.

I remember this race, as I wagered on it.

I think the dq was warranted, but wasn't Gomez 4 deep in the stretch, and caused a 4 horse chain reaction that put the rail horse with Ore down?

It seems unlikely that Gomez would put 2 other horses and riders in danger if she was trying to drop Ore.

I have read there were plenty of issues between the two of them, and she was careless in her ride, but not sure she would go this far. At least I hope not.

Doesn't sound like using logic applies to this rider.

I saw a minor league race, in which the outside jockey appeared to be careless.

I'm not involved in this legal matter. Maybe the outside jock announced "I'm going to put you over the rail!" prior to the race, for all to hear?

All I can comment on is my own small insight into reality that I am able to glean from watching the race replay.

To be brutally honest, that is pointless conjecture.

If you just buy into the idea that one jock was bullying another jock before this race ever took place, it doesn't even pay to watch the replay as you have your mind made up already.

I'm not sure if you are making an off-hand comment on the possibility of that article causing fans and race-watchers to have a bias, or if you are saying that my comment indicated a close-minded bias.

If it is the latter, I did a very poor job of clearly stating my comment.

Why do i have to post a link, can't people find the replay for themselves? How am i supposed to post a link on a replay that probably requires the person to have a pay service in order to view the replay, such as racereplays.com for example? Its not the same as posting a link to an article.
