My second choice after Gun Bow-Kelso would be Ghostzapper-St. Liam; that was a terrific duel for a long way between two excellent horses.

Rachel. But how can you not love Holy Bull beating that crowd?

Just ticking off the names that ran behind him makes me realize how bad things are now. Could "we" ever muster up a race like that again? I doubt it

Rachel because of her courage and undeniable tenacity. However, I believe it was here that she was spent. I believe it was here in Saratoga in the Woodward that she felt the toll, "I've had enough, I've given all I have." Though she came back to race, as we know.

It wasn't the field of Holy Bull's Woodward, but, to me, it was hard fought and ultimately consuming.
