Some Belmont Stats
Linda Rice is winning at 41% on the dirt...41% !!!...but is only 5% on turf, which was once her meal ticket
Jockey Junior Alvarado is 19% on dirt and only 6% on turf, but still has the highest avg winning mutuel of the top jocks...over $14.00
Leading jock Javier Castellano is winning at 30% on the turf, but still has the 4th highest avg mutuel...Cornelio Velasquez surprisingly has the lowest avg at $6.50
The rail is the place to be except for sprints on the inner turf. Oddly, in sprints on the Widener the #1 hole wins at 16% but post 2 & 3 are bad. Last year the rail was terrible in dirt routes and is usually bad in turf sprints.
The rail has basically always been good going long on the inner turf and this year is no different at 21%.
