You can't make this stuff up

Prx, Suf, Del, and Rui all went off within 3 minutes of each other, and they are the only tracks running outside of Finger Lakes. I'm not betting that track, maybe they did too?

Other than Suffolk they all have slots. They're probably too busy watching the gaming floor to be paying attention to post times.

Or, they're doing what some other tracks with slots are doing, hate on the customer, run the product into the ground, let the cheats run wild on the backstretches, put the racing product in a position to lose money so they can say 'see, racing loses money, how about letting us keep the slots and get rid of the racing'

I agree with you.

In 1996 I went to England.
The bookie parlour that I attended on one occasion had TV's showing 3 tracks running.
The tracks were coordinated like the British trains, punctual.
Races were spaced to the minute with more or less equal intervals in between.
I suspect you've seen the same when you were stationed in Europe.

Mountaineer had a LONG LONG LONG inquiry tonight in the 3rd race (Jun 30) and there was really nothing to see, there was some jostling for position into the far turn, but nothing really was to come of it, so they look at the replays literally 50 times and leave the race official.....this delay, made their 4th race go off EXACTLY at the same time, almost to the second, as the final race at Presque Isle...which was the only other tbred track running to my knowledge.

You can't make it up.

Can't happen. Without racing, state law says "no casino".

Laws can be changed. And in this case should be changed.
The idea that you can only have a casino in the same location as a racetrack and that you have the horses a chunk of your profits is absolutely bizarre and flies in the face of the basic tenets of capitalism.
It makes about as much sense as a law requiring that you can only sell cigarettes in a plumbing supply store.

Australia does the same thing: they stagger their tracks so that the races are spaced apart. It's part of the TV contract: the network basically dictates the post times, and the tracks make adjustments. Once in a while, there's a major delay, and the schedule will go out of kilter briefly, but they get back on schedule as soon as possible.

Fort Erie, Hastings and PID all running on top of each other.....seems like they're the only 3 tracks racing right now

So much for local control. These tracks can even make phone call to agree when they will start their races. Of course most race track pay absolutely no attention to the scheduled post time anyway. There are ADWs where you can schedule your bet to go in it is at certain odds or higher at negative MTP!

Actually, there's too much gloom and doom in the industry. If this were a healthy industry, there wouldn't be much doom and gloom here.

Short fields. Horses on the shelf for weeks at a time (this is the new norm) instead of racing every week or two like in days past...won't even mention the rising takeouts in the face of ever stiffer competition for the wagering dollar...always good to raise prices when you're competing with a cheaper product...

Maybe you could find a forum where there is nothing but positivity based on a false reality?

There's a difference between that kind of stuff and complaining that Fort Erie and Presque Isle Downs are going off at the same time.
