I know what you're saying, but why is it always the bettor's fault that they failed to uncover that the game is being played a certain way in a particular race, and yet the track/owner/trainer feel no heat whatsoever for having perpetrated a fraud?

Uncovering that a game is being played is what can make this game very profitable at times.
Not sure the connections were committing a fraud. They probably made no statements that implied Moonshine Bay would/should win, therefore the only fraudulence that could be accused is that we assume every horse entered in every race is there to give it's best effort towards winning that race. Any horse player with any experience at all knows there are horses in races that are there to train/rabbit/fill or any other reasons too numerous to list. For the inexperienced, this would be a learning experience on connections making sure a race fills and goes. (Not implying you're inexperienced)

Even the announcers were saying they thought Jerrys other horse didnt put enough pressure on Shared Belief and that wouldnt happen again.

That horse was ridden specifically knowing that the trainer had another much fancier horse in the race. This is the type of stuff that forces tracks to couple same trainers, its shenanigans like that.
I don't want entries, but i also don't want jocks compromising their own chances to help out another runner in the race. Its essentially race fixing.

Hollendorfer is 7 for 18 going from poly to dirt and stretching from sprints to routes. 39%, says Formulator.

This is an odd track and surface, its worth a poke against him. If he wins, no big deal, just bet against him next time.

The same thing was said about California Chrome when he beat up on Candy boy. Fast horses get good trips.

The thing I love about this horse is how well his finishes. Now he's done it on dirt also.

i saw Hollendorfer on TVG a few days ago and he said he won't go to the Haskell. after running on dirt today, i wonder if he will go back to synthetic in Del Mar.
one thing for sure, i can't question whatever the trainer decides to do with this guy, so far he hasn't done anything wrong!

There's a $1,000,000 bonus for any horse who wins the Los Alamitos Derby, the Pacific Classic, and the Breeders' Cup Classic. I would expect Shared Belief would try to win the bonus.
