Today is a very good day to determine who is moving on and whose trail is ending today...i think after today you see the road to the derby begin to solidify...points are going to become very valuable...lot of these horses are going to have 1 shot at this point and if they don't fire they are watching the derby from the comforts of there barn

From Blood-Horse: Dale Romans indicated that Medal Count will start in the Derby if the 40 points he earned for the Blue Grass with his runner-up finish get him into the 20-horse field.

Top horse with points earned = California Chrome --> 150 and therefore my KY Derby pick.

As I've always maintained the post positions plus running styles determine the tactical tone of a race, even in a twenty horse field.

Maybe #5 California Chrome (with the most points) will win this year's Kentucky Derby \o/ or one of the horses on my list will finish in the superfecta.......#20 Wicked Strong #15 Tapiture #14 Medal Count.......if not, hell-there should be another list in January of 2015. \O/

Kentucky Derby overlay

I'll be wagering an exacta, trifecta and superfecta in this race.

California Chrome (who has the most points) offers no value alone in the win slot.

For the/my record the colt I'll be betting on for the win/show is Medal Count........\O/\o/ Good luck.

Lets gamble.

ExBox 18/5-10-13
10/5-13-18

A nice hit here should set me up nicely for a great week/month/year depending.

Congratulations to California Chrome, Art Sherman and Victor Espinoza for their collective win in the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby.

I don't want the title to this thread to be misconstrued. When I typed top Triple Crown contenders I meant the three races in the series, (which could have different winners) and not that one horse on my list would be a candidate. Obviously at this point, CC is a Triple Crown contender.

On to the Preakness and I might pick a horse not on my list.

.....\o/ 1-26-14 (the date of the start of this thread).... # California Chrome is victorious in the Preakness - 2014 - (and no I didn't bet the Colt to win).......

I have at times wondered if there are members on this forum who believe me to be egotistical. Rest assured that I am not and if anyone wants to believe different I really don't care. It is my opinion that no one knows anyone else through messages. Yes, I realize I use the personal pronoun I often in my posts but that's just my style of writing. I am not college educated.

P.S. I would think that I should have many more than 439 posts in close to seven years on this board if I was an egotist . . .

Potential Triple Crown

I'd like to see a T C winner in C Chrome!

Having said that, will there be a stretch battle between California Chrome and Wicked Strong? That may be but the exacta wouldn't be paying much.

I won't settle for the low value CC offers by the general public's desire to cash in on a piece of history.

I'll take a stand against the overbet favorite and box a few contenders in the exotics, hoping to keep C C out of the win hole.

However, at the same time, I'll be rooting for --> California Chrome --> with one win ticket........ Best of luck

I've got four horses going for me in the Travers:

#2) Bayern_Baffert/Garcia_2-1

#3) Charge Now_Mott/Alvarado_15-1

#10) Mr Speaker_McGaughey/Lezcano_10-1

#7) Wicked Strong_Jerkens/Maragh_7-2

Hopefully one of these will win..........No decision yet on whether I'll bet the

race but should I go against the possible favorite because according to my

numbers Bayern has the better final fraction and after works of 4,6 and 4

furlongs within sixteen days he could possibly carry his speed and get the

distance or the colt might end up in the graveyard.
