online poker???

Is there anyway to legally play online poker in this country anymore?? I'm getting the itch, having not played in almost two years now. My friends dad plays at lockpoker, I read 3 shitty reviews and basically gave up the hope of ever playing legit online poker again. Anyone??

Yeah...I played at lockpoker for a while...but it slowly occurred to me that the games there might not be on the "up-and-up".

I was playing there late one night, at what had been a full and lively table for hours...and I needed a break to go to the bathroom. I sat out briefly to take care of my business, and returned to my computer 5 minutes later...only to find that my formerly "live" table had been emptied out -- with me being the only player still seated there. With my suspicions aroused, I sat out for 5 minutes again the next night...and the same exact thing happened. My full and lively table again emptied out upon my departure...again leaving me alone when I returned.

I could only deduce that I was the only "live" person at the table...and I was playing with a group of "robots" who were collectively trying to fleece me.

Wish your friend's dad good luck from me. He'll need it.

Never ran across anyone who ever had anything good to say about lockpoker. Interstate online poker is quite a ways off yet, but it is looking like a few states will have it for their residents only.

So it looks like the bottom line is no. Nowhere legit to turn anymore to play online. Kinda sucks.

That's amazing. I have a buddy that reported a similar situation. I don't know what site. He said that only one other person at the table could be verified as real.

6 seats or 9?

The smaller tables will break fairly quickly on occasion.

No...I disagree.

I always played exclusively at the 6-seated tables...and there was nothing unusual about a guy sitting out for a few minutes.

In the two instances that I chronicled here, I had been playing in the game for several hours...and the action had been lively throughout. It is simply UNTHINKABLE that an "honest" game would have broken up both times simply because I happened to sit out for 5 minutes.

Lock Poker is notorious for taking about 4 months to payout. I would stay far far away.

It's impossible to trust the offshore outfits that are left.

I had a little money at Bovada (Bodog)...and I requested a withdrawal. I requested a check by mail...and they told me that I would have it in about 6 weeks. After about a month, I wanted to see if my withdrawal had been processed...so I logged onto Bovada and pretended that I wanted to make a deposit into my supposedly empty account. I immediately received a pop-up message telling me that a "recent" withdrawal of mine was still in the process of being completed...and that I could choose to CANCEL that transaction and have the money returned to my account instead of proceeding with a new deposit. What this told me, of course, was that my money was still in their hands even though I had requested the withdrawal a month prior.

I waited for an additional month...and still no check.

Finally, after about 3 months total, I found the check in my mailbox on my way out of the house one day...and I took it and deposited it in the bank. That same day when I later got home, I found that an email had been sent to me by Bovada...which went something like this:

"Dear sir,

You will be receiving your requested withdrawal in a few days...but a mistake has been made which has necessitated the cancellation of the check that we have sent you (check # 698453210). Upon receiving said check, please dispose of it without depositing it...and a new check will be sent to you by us -- which you should receive in a couple of weeks.

Thank you...and we regret any inconvenience that this might have caused."

Since I had already deposited that check, my first impulse was to notify the bank and alert them of the situation; but then I got to thinking. What if the check was good all along, and this "cancellation business" was just an attempt by Bovada to delay the withdrawal transaction as long as possible...thereby keeping the customers' money for as long as they possibly could?

I did nothing about the matter...and the original check went through my bank without any problem.

There are no trustworthy offshore poker sites left in this country anymore...IMO.

If Saratoga ever gets a table game casino will that include a poker room? Im about 45min north of Saratoga.
