an extra 210 $5000 chips with over 4000 entries/rebuys
many ideas and theories including
- screw-ups in starting stack on some tables (supposed to have 20,000 in chips some say they got 25,000)
-screw-ups in run-offs (when small chips get 'retired', they chip them up to next highest denomination - so when 1000 chips get retired, they give 1 5000 for every 5 1000 and partial stacks on table have a race to see who gets the round-ups @ a dealer giving 40 instead of 20 for a full rack)
to complicate thing there were different versions of $5K chips in play = some new ones and a couple versions of old ones - the state commission (and Borgata?) decided some of these were counterfeit
how were these added to play?
@palmed onto stack one at a time during play - would be fairly easy
@while moving tables - when players go out, they close tables down from the edges and fill up the main areas empty seats - adding chips at this time would be possible as the individual is doing the putting in racks/moving
@at end or beginning of day - players place all their chips in a bag (supposed to count)
3 day tournament with multiple day 1's with re-entries and rebuy's?
?Deep dark secret is this may have occurred at many tournaments in the past but not disclosed?
Definitely not good for Borgota or even Adelsons claim that online poker can not ever be as secure as casinos - cheating, money laundering, underage...
