Interesting race w/the the big Baffert shipper Dr. Dorr fresh off a 2nd to Accelerate in the G1 SA Gold Cup. Drop in distance should help. 2-1? I think more like 4-5. Will be tough to beat, but will play against. All wins @SA, hopefully doesn't like the ship or the lights. Irish Freedom trained by Brad Cox just doesn't look good enough; hard to toss Cox. Matroh good 3rd to Pavel in the G1 Foster losing by 4 lengths and 2nd by a neck. Old timer, think he is better around 1 turn. McCraken 3-0-2-1 record at the distance. 3rd off long layoff, good works, some things to like. Thirstforlife I have been high this horse since the OP meet, will bet this one, but not sure he is good enough and needs to improve. Dalmore should take plenty of money w/Desormeaux in to ride. Remembering Rita ran a 1 mile 70 in 1:40 flat@PRM-owners should make money w/a horse like that. An overnight stake seems more appropriate than this spot, though. Hence fired big @PRM last year and Santana, Asmussens main rider, up in the irons. Krewe Chief trained by M. Maker rounds out the field, Gaffalione, fresh off a leading rider title at GP, in town for the ride. Will play Thirstforlife WPS.

not a bad forecast for Des Moines:

Friday Sunny, with a high near 84.
Friday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 62.

Too bad Dr. Dorr may go in the Suburban instead

Iowa Sprint has some good horses in it. Can't figure out Heartwood. Think Cool Arrow may run big here on the outside. Westfest is in good form and Wilbo ran some big ones at Oaklawn earlier in the season. Old pro Apprehender w/back to back wins at PRM

Would have liked Dr. Dorr by quite a margin.

I'm interested to give the a 2nd race with the new trainer as the OP race seemed semi tough for the front running style.

Looking at

5/2
5/2
4/1

Going with

Dalmore

Irish Freedom

Hawkeye fans can talk all they want right now, but their best race of the year is named after the best football program.

I AM THE EYE IN SKY!!! You're getting me pumped for Husker football. Anywho, my pick on class is McCracken but his price is a no bet for me. I'm with several others here on the if I can get 4-1. Box with the who has great recent form.

Dalmore is the boss pace horse in this race. It's his to lose.
Would be great to see Wes Hawley win a GrStk with #5 though.
He's a great guy and a solid trainer.

Wow!

Just broke his maiden 2 races back.

I'd never let that horse race anywhere but Prairie Meadows ever again.

Ended up on a win on the

Wrote in my notes that the was just taking too big of a jump in class for me, despite liking the front running run style. Would have gone 5 deep to get to him.

The was 4th on the Brisnet Prime Power even before Dr. Dorr scracthed for Belmont.

Those two TVG guys seemed oblivious to the fact a ride fell off at the gate.
Of course there is an inquiry.

Whole field of horses had nothing early and nothing late.
Disappointing race. As usual these days.

Maybe we should look at training monkeys to ride. Couldn't be any worse.

McCracken once again lives down to his reputation as over-hyped, under talented.
